Happy 2017 to everyone!
For years I made New Year’s Resolutions! And sometimes I still do but they are very different than before! I never kept them and the one always listed as # 1 was LOSE WEIGHT and #2 manage my stress! Now I just state what makes me happy and what I could do to better my life.
This year, my health will be my priority but no specific goals. I manage my stress pretty well, I am not losing weight but have made peace with it so I just want to fuel my body in a way that will leave me happy and energized! Working with clients really helps me keep that in check!
At the end of the year, I ask the children to sit for a while and think about what they would love to better in 2017. Not much but it also gives them the opportunity to look back at 2016 as well.
What have I accomplished?
What makes me proud and why?
I am always in awe with what they come up with and I am very proud of each wish they state and share with us!
This year my 7-year-old would like to sing and color more and TRY to eat more vegetables! (He is my creative one and apparently knows exactly what his strengths are!)
My 17-year-old said she wanted to stop wishing and start acting. How cool is that? As parents we are actually making them little adults; she will be going to college next year and she needs to start acting. I never suggested anything but she found the key to what is going to be the most important skill for her next year!
I won’t list here all that was said and shared around the dining table but they made me proud, again. I am so grateful for my husband as we made together those 4 treasures and they fill my heart and life with joy and pride.
It is not always easy to be leading the pack but even if my house is sometimes a mess, that noises (good and less good) prevail, all I can say is that I am a pretty lucky lady and this is what I wish for all of you!
List your passions and feed/fuel them in a way or another but anything to make you HAPPY. Keep things simple, look at little things in your life and be grateful.
